Voices of Bam (NR)
synopsis
In December 2003, a massive earthquake struck the southern Iranian city of Bam, killing more than 40,000 people and leaving twice that number homeless and injured. Also destroyed was the 2,000-year-old Bam Citadel, a World Heritage Site and architectural wonder. Inspired by family photos unearthed from the ruins of the city, Voices of Bam allows survivors to reminisce about--and directly address--their lost loved ones as the camera captures the everyday rebuilding of their shattered lives.
