synopsis

Laurel and Hardy's first feature-length film is a prison comedy made on left-over sets from the MGM production, "The Big House." Among the oddball highlights is an extended scene of the two -- in adjacent cells -- in a bizarre conversation about food as well as a delightful soft-shoe number after a day of cotton-picking.
