Many cities contend for the distinction of being Europe's geographical center. This film catalogues all of them, revealing their presumptions, errors, claims, monuments and bizarre self-assertions. 'The Center' also introduces the new faces of today's Europe -- the eccentrics, visionaries, local patriots, continental utopians and elders who experienced first hand some of the historical convulsions that shifted the center of Europe in the past century.
