synopsis

Of the most important Turkish singers, Ahmet Kaya has sold millions of albums in the past, his songs still attracts millions of people today. In an occasion in which he was presented the award of ‘the Artist of the Year', he was socially lynched upon his announcement of his intention to release an album which will include a song in Kurdish as well, and he had to go to self-exile in Paris in 1999. The film, starring Celil Nalçakan and Ezgi Senler, will reveal how Ahmet Kaya influenced people with his art and shaped social sensitivity. While Erbay Media undertakes the production of Ahmet's Ballad, which was shot on the big screen under the direction of the master director Kudret Sabanci, the film will focus not only on Ahmet Kaya's musical career, but also his deep impact on society and his resounding works, and will present them to the big screen audience.
