Love isn't always simple, especially when you're an ageing assassin wrestling with the moral depravity of your mission. In American Star, Ian McShane is Wilson, a hitman hired to kill a man he has never met, on the bucolic island of Fuerteventura. As with all great morality tales, it is the people he meets along the way, namely the mysterious Anne (Fanny Ardant) that force him to reconsider his bad guy persona and learn to appreciate life's finer pleasures.
