synopsis

A chronicle that commemorates the Jerry Garcia/David Grisman partnership beginning with their 1964 meeting at a folk venue in Pennsylvania called Sunset Park. They were "beards of a feather," kindred spirits with a passion for music. During the course of a friendship that spanned four decades, two of America's musical powerhouses-Grateful Dead guitarist Jerry Garcia and mandolinist David Grisman-shared 44 recording sessions that produced an acclaimed body of work. Garcia was a lifelong bluegrass fan, while Grisman innovated the bluegrass-jazz hybrid "Dawg" music; together, they created the epitome of stringed synchronicity. The chronicle reveals rare concert footage, unreleased audio tracks and living room jam sessions, which shows the creative chemistry that marked this dynamic duo's musical magic.
