synopsis

The story of Jesus 'El Matador' Chavez, a talented boxer, who finds his rise to the top cut short when he is deported for a crime that he committed in his youth. Now Chavez has two battles to face - trying to return to his family and the career he left behind in the US; and finding acceptance in Mexico, the country of his birth. His dilemma is shared by many families affected by strict immigration laws passed in 1996 that require deportation of non-citizens with criminal records.
