synopsis
Siraj-Ud-Daulah, the last independent Nawab of Bengal, fought bravely against the Britishers and the East India Company in the Battle of Plassey. Betrayed by his chief of army Mir Jafar, Siraj-Ud-Daulah was defeated by British East India Company led by Major General Robert Clive. His defeat marked the commencement East India Company rule over India in 1757 AD.
