A reconstructed film about the epic ocean voyage of the Tompkins family that began in 1936. Warwick “Commodore” Tompkins, now in his 80's, recalls and offers insight into the extraordinary adventure of the passage around Cape Horn aboard Wander Bird from the eyes of a 4 year old boy discovering a world that most of us will never get to experience.

WARWICK TOMPKINS – A LIFETIME AT SEA
A mere 2 weeks after Warwick "Commodore' Tompkins' birth in 1932, he was brought on board Wander Bird - an 85' schooner - that would set the course for his life at sea. Commodore spent his first 9 years sailing aboard Wander Bird until it abruptly came to a halt in 1941 with the advent of WWII. The transition from water to land proved very difficult for the young seafarer. Eventually he returned to the sea. With his wealth of experience and knowledge of sailing, few people in the world are more qualified to talk about life on the water than Warwick "Commodore" Tompkins himself.
