On the first friday of every month, thousands of people congregate in the streets of downtown Oakland to celebrate art and culture. But after a teenager is murdered during the event, the future of First Friday and the rebirth of Oakland itself is in peril. Can a city truly transform itself while it's troubled past of violence and inequality hides just under the surface?
