synopsis

In 1987 Pablo, Andrés, and Juan are neighbors, friends, and confidants. They are also adolescents that are a part of the growing middle class of Quito, Ecuador. Pablo and Andrés help Juan hide from his family inside an abandoned house as he tries to avoid being sent to a military school. In this house they experience love, desire, jealousy and danger as they strengthen their bond as friends. But these bonds will be irredeemably broken when Pablo is forced to return to his native Argentina. In 2002, after the collapse of the Argentinean economy, Pablo returns to Ecuador to meet with Andrés in an attempt to regain what he lost all those years before. Most importantly, with Andrés' help, they'll be able to do what they couldn't do 15 years before: to confront the truth of what happened to Juan.
