synopsis
The enlargement of the EU has created new walls, positioning non EU countries such as Belarus, Moldova and Ukraine on the front line of international migration. Though traditionally countries of emigration they have become countries of destination, hosting an increasing number of both, refugees and migrants. They are the gateway between Asia and Europe. Women are often the most vulnerable of all refugees are often women. In this film, six women from countries like Afghanistan, Congo, Iran, Uzbekistan and even Russia have gone through the tragedy of being forced to flee from their country of origin and losing their loved ones. They arrived (often thinking they were in the EU) to a country which does not welcome them. Yet, this is their new home, where they have to start settling if they want to have a future.
