synopsis

Sampaguita is the small yellow blossom which serves as one of the Philippine's national symbols. It's harvesting and selling on the street is one of the few options open to the hundreds of thousands of Philippine orphans and street kids. Bringing together the cheeky DIY filmmaking of Pinoy, filmmaking young turks like Lav Diaz and Khavn de la Cruz, and the neo-realist tradition of Lino Brocka, Francis Pasion child's eye view of the Philippine street is sometimes grim, but also has a surprising degree of charm and hope.
