synopsis

In a bold and stylistically sophisticated experimental piece, first-time filmmaker Kelvin Kyung Kun Park creates a tribute to his dead grandfather who ran a scrap metal business in the Cheonggyecheon district of Seoul following the Korean War. Recurring dreams and nightmares filled with metallic imagery have followed Park since childhood. With this film, he confronts the history of iron workers who shaped this soon to be gentrified area, and explores the remaining workmen still engaging in obsolete techniques of metal casting.
