synopsis

When big-city newspaper columnist Sarah Cain attends her Amish sister's funeral in Pennsylvania, she learns that she will be the legal guardian of her five Amish nieces and nephews. Thinking that the children can start a new life with her, she brings them back to Portland. But soon after, she realizes that the modern world is forcing them to lose touch with their Amish beliefs and traditons. Sarah must determine whether it's best for the children to return to Amish country, or to remain under her care.
