synopsis
The longest running comic book series in history comes to the big screen as the "Fantastic Four" battle evil Doctor Doom. The "Four" consists of Reed Richards, Sue Richards, Benjamin Grimm and Johnny Storm, who after rocketing into space in an experimental starship -- the first humans to attempt interstellar travel - were changed forever by a freak encounter with cosmic rays. Reed (Mr. Fantastic) can elongate his body; Susan (Invisible Woman) not only can become invisible at will but can render other objects invisible; Johnny (Human Torch) can shoot fire from his finger tips and bend flame; and Ben (The Thing) is a hideously misshapen monster with superhuman strength.
