Nearly two years into Russia's full-scale invasion of Ukraine, GLORY TO THE HEROES shows Lévy continuing to fight against fatigued public opinion, the cynicism of chancelleries and, perhaps now more than ever, the weight of silence fallen upon Ukraine. Lévy returns to the frontlines with co-director Marc Roussel after the June 2023 destruction of the Kakhovka dam by the Russians, considered an act of unprecedented ecocide. Lévy and Roussel set out to show the world this devastation as they embed themselves with elite forces, capturing both the horrors of war and the hopefulness of Ukrainian citizens, who display incredible optimism in the face of senseless destruction. With unique access, they capture the horrors of war and the remarkable strength of the Ukrainian citizens.
