synopsis

When a mute young woman from an isolated community realizes that her promise of an idyllic life is disintegrating, she seeks solace with an ostracized stranger. Knowingly disobeying their leader, she continues to pursue this relationship, causing her leader to further unravel, and use increasingly aggressive and violent tactics to maintain his control.
