synopsis

Ocean of Obstacles is a film documentary that reveals the story of a dozen blind and visually impaired teens and adults as they attempt a life changing voyage. This first-time crew dubbed “The Blind Buccaneers” will learn to navigate and sail on open water before embarking on a seven day journey from the Spanish Virgin Islands to the Western shore of Puerto Rico.

Circumnavigating the waters of the Caribbean ocean, this band of blind adventurers shall overcome nature, fatigue and the scrutiny of naysayers, but their biggest obstacle will be their own physical limitations and fear of failure. From day one of training to docking on the harbor, each chapter will be a brand new obstacle to climb. This story of challenge and inspiration will show the world what the human experience can become a beacon for all when set to a monumental task.
