In Shyamal Bose's movie ‘Astitwa' Soumitra Chatterjee plays a novelist who decides to write about the harsh truths of the brothels in our country to seek justice for the women forced to llive in the dark alleys. The narrative sees how the writer eventually gets engulfed in the class struggle between the privileged the not so privileged.
